Ingredient notes and substitutions
  • Espresso: Use any espresso you like. Use a Nespresso or an espresso machine to make the espresso shot. If you can't make espresso at home, you can substitute it with 1 coffee.
  • Ice Cream: vanilla ice cream is the secret ingredient for this recipe. You can also choose another ice cream flavor if you want to, like vanilla ice cream with bourbon.
  • Milk: I use whole milk for this recipe. Because whole milk makes the iced coffee creamier than reduced-fat milk or low-fat milk. But you can use any milk of your choice.
  • Sugar: Sugar is added to make this iced coffee sweeter. If you don't have a sweet tooth like me. You can add less sugar or no sugar add all. The ice cream is also a sweetener in this recipe.
Variations on the recipe:
  • Add whipped cream on top
  • Add a tablespoon of coffee syrup, some recommendations are Hazelnut, Vanilla, Caramel.
  • Add some toppings, like hazelnuts, candied roasted nuts, sprinkles, chocolate sprinkles.
  • Add a liquor, some recommendations: Baileys, Frangelico, or Rum.
  • Put a dessert sauce in the glass or on top of the whipped cream. It can be a chocolate sauce or caramel sauce.
  • Add some OREO cookies in the blender, to get an Oreo Iced Coffee.
